This week I made the jump to a newly redesigned website and it was not without issue. There have been several headaches, a lot of work as well as some content that was lost and then recovered a few days later. Right now, I’m still waiting for the dust to settle after the jump over here and I’m still working out some issues. I’m looking forward to having a moment to breathe once everything is as it should be.
Speaking of breathing… I need to take a nice deep breath because I am really not ready for this next phase of life. As of this week, HB is now officially out of middle school and is a high school freshman!! I’m nervous for her, scared and excited for her and well, in all honesty I just don’t know how we got to this point so quickly! I feel like it was just a moment ago that I was dropping her off at kindergarten. I’m so proud of her. She’s growing into such a lovely young lady.
As I mentioned last week, my sister-in-law got married this past weekend. What a blast! We all survived the experience and the girls were such troopers. What a long day for everyone but they hung in there. A nice side effect of wedding excitement was when we finally got home after the weekend, the next morning Molly slept until 7:30am and Maddy slept until 9:30am! This is unheard of in our household! Usually they’re both up around 6:00am. It definitely took us all a few days to recuperate.
In other news, here’s what was happening on Food Babbles this week! Hope you have a great weekend!
And here are some things I’ve bookmarked recently that maybe you’ll enjoy also!
Chocolate Swirl Buns from Smitten Kitchen ~ These need to happen in my kitchen! As soon as you open her post, you’ll see why. Warm chocolate just oozing out of these buns. This is my kind of breakfast treat or for that matter, any time treat!
Rhubarb Margarita from Cookin’ Canuck ~ I’m such a fan of margaritas but I’ve never had a rhubarb margarita before so I immediately found this to be such an intriguing recipe.
You Know You’re a Food Blogger If… by Eat the Love ~ This post is funny and had me quite literally laughing out loud at times while simultaneously nodding my head in agreement.
Mexican Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles by Love and Olive Oil ~ Yes please!!!! Everything about the title of this recipe makes me want to dive right in. Cookie dough with hints of cinnamon and cayenne, not to mention I’m a truffle addict so this is pretty much the perfect dessert in my eyes. Oh and did I mention I am loving Lindsay’s cookbook!
Watermelon Arugula Salad with Basil Vinaigrette by Merry Gourmet ~ This fresh, vibrant salad sounds so refreshing. I think it would be the perfect afternoon lunch. Watermelon, tomatoes, basil… some of my very favorite flavors all in one place.
