Yeast, in waffles? Yep! Have you had them or made them? Well let me tell ya, if you haven’t these overnight yeast waffles are truly something special. The yeast takes regular waffles and elevates them, quite literally. Yeasty waffles are just trying to be as big and fluffy as they can possibly be. Crispy, golden outside while tender and soft inside with deep pockets begging to be filled with anything your little heart desires. Syrup, butter, jam, a scoop of ice cream perhaps? I say “Yes!”
The batter is a breeze to just toss together in mere moments then you pop it into the fridge. When you wake up in the morning, take it out, make a pot of coffee and fire up that waffle iron cause an easy, hot homemade breakfast is hittin’ your table. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Food Fanatic to read more about this Yeast Waffle Recipe I cooked up for you!
PS … The strawberry balsamic reduction from the recipe below is AMAZING on waffles! Or over ice cream on waffles. Or just on a big ol’ spoon … just sayin’
Enjoy!

Saving this recipe, have always wanted to try yeast waffles. They look so good!
Hope you enjoy Suzanne! They’re a household favorite.
I don’t think I’ve ever had yeasted waffles. Love that they are an overnight recipe!
So easy! Practically done when you get up in the morning. It would only be quicker if they put themselves in the waffle iron 😉
with a side of bacon, I am so there…..
Everything’s better with bacon!! And these waffles are no exception.
Yum, I am craving breakfast just looking at these. Heading over to Food Fanatic to grab the recipe!
Aw yum! I’ve never made my own waffles (yeasted or non yeasted) but these look amazing! Haha… you might want to check out the new waffle post on Hip Foodie Mom (it’s an incredibly indulgent peanut butter and nutella waffle sundae!). If I had a waffle iron I’d definitely make your waffles then slather them in Alice’s indulgent toppings!! 🙂
Ooo! Thanks for the great recipe recommendations. I’ll definitely head over and check that out. Sounds awesome!!
Kate, these waffles look so fluffy and tender. I’m craving waffles, now!
Ooo, yeast waffles – I looove it!
I’ve never had waffles, I’d love to try them but I’m without a waffle iron. What kind do you use Kate?
I have a simple Hamilton Beach waffle maker, cost about $30 and gets the job done just fine 🙂 And you definitely need to try waffles!! They’re just amazing!
Thanks Kate, I’ll check that one out 🙂
I remember reading awhile ago about yeast waffles, but never really looked into the recipe. I am happy to read your blog post, they look seriously AMAZING! I will for sure pin this to make soon:-) Hugs, Terra
Thanks so much Terra! Hope you like them 🙂
I have been dying to make yeast waffles for some time now. No idea why it isn’t more common since, like you said, the yeast gives you fluffier pockets to hold whatever you choose to eat them with. OK, now I’m making myself hungry..as if looking at your photos didn’t do that already!
Funny thing is my son just asked for waffles. He’s never asked for waffles in his life. And yeast? I can so see what fabulous waffles this would make!
