Check out Cool Creations: Frozen Desserts For Summer Fun

by Kate Donahue at Foodie.com

When it comes to imbibing in an adult beverage, I’m a wine gal. I love a nice glass while enjoying a dinner out or while sitting out on our deck. I love how each wine is different and complex, their unique flavors shining through. One of my favorite ways to enjoy wine is in sangria. Wine and fruit together are a natural pairing.  If you agree, these winesicles are right up your alley!

Frozen treats are my favorite summer indulgence. From ice cream to granita to icebox cakes, the frozen possibilities for summer fun are endless. These popsicles are like sangria on a stick. Wine and fruit frozen into adult popsicles that are sure to be a hit at your next cookout. I loved this fun, unique way to enjoy wine. With the flavor of berries and hints of orange, these wine popsicles are a fantastic way to enjoy wine. It’s like a party in a popsicle!

Winesicles

Fruit infused wine turned frozen into flavorful wine popsicles, like sangria on a stick!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1 (750 mL) bottle of fruity red wine
  • 1 cup lemon lime soda
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 shot brandy

Instructions

  1. In a blender, puree strawberries, blueberries and raspberries until smooth. If desired, press berry puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together berry puree, wine, soda, orange juice and brandy. Pour wine mixture into popsicle molds. Freeze until solid.

Those are fun Kate; I’ve done popsicles with vodka but not wine (that I recall…maybe I had too many?). These look perfect for a warm summer ‘tipple.’
