Back to school time is finally upon us. For HB that means she enters her sophomore year of high school while Maddy is just embarking on her educational journey. Maddy had her first day of preschool this week! I cannot believe how quickly time is flying by with all my girls. Surprisingly there were absolutely no tears, from Maddy that is. Daddy on the other hand was a mess. It was definitely a difficult day for him. But when it came time to pick her up, she was all smiles and filled with stories about her first day. She couldn’t wait to go back! So the first day was a huge success.

Luna Worm Amazement

The rest of the week prior to the first day of school was spent reveling in nature’s wonder. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you likely already know exactly what I’m talking about. We all gathered around as we came upon a strange, large, bright green caterpillar. We had never seen a caterpillar like this before. We were in awe! After a quick google search we learned that what we had found was a luna moth caterpillar and the moth it was to become would be absolutely gorgeous. The caterpillar discovery definitely provided a bit of fun that day.

Swim Time

We’re all just hanging on to what’s left of summer. Enjoying a few last swims in the pool and few more barbecues. I’m planning on having people over this weekend, which brings me to Babbles Bookmark of the Week. I am definitely making this Jack Daniel’s Bacon Mac and Cheese from White Lights on Wednesday. So if the title doesn’t pull you right in (and really, how could it not??) then you need to hop on over and take a gander at the crazy, mouth-watering, drool worthy pictures of this creamy macaroni and cheese recipe. Holy cow! It sounds and looks incredible.

Hope you all had a fabulous week! As always, you’ll find a recap of what you may have missed around here this week. Oh and don’t forget, if you’re in the tri-state area I’d love to meet you, feed you and dance with you at Tea Party Dance Party 2013 next month! Details and tickets can be purchase HERE. Have a wonderful weekend!

The back to school time is so bitter sweet isn’t it? I am glad for the routine, but I miss my girls. I love that you discovered a Luna moth caterpillar. Lila’s first homework assignment from 1st grade is to find a tiny monarch butterfly caterpillar egg on a milkweed leaf! I think I could use some of your families abilities finding one. We haven’t had much luck! lol:)

I’ve definitely been missing her but she is loving her time at school and for now, it’s only 3 days a week so I can handle it. Good luck finding monarch eggs! That sounds like quite the challenge.
