Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you all had a spectacular week and have lots of fun or relaxation planned for today. Today, I’m excited! HB and I are off to see Chicago today on Broadway and the birthday celebration continues. It’s been such a long time since she and I went to a show together. We’ve seen plenty over the years but it’s been way too long since the last. I cannot wait even though it’s only 6 hours away. It’s just going to be such a nice day out together.

Today will also be a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of me not taking my own advice at all. Not even a little bit. What advice you say? Just that I should be slowing down a bit. I keep saying I’m going to yet I keep on taking on more. I truly am going to step back from something soon. I know I have too much on my plate and I am starting to really evaluate what I can scale back. Part of the reason for this is because I’ve actually took on a new project and it’s very exciting! I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it but mum’s the word for just a few more days.

Why You Should Never Start A Food Blog from I Am Baker: I could relate to so much of this post. The title is deceiving yet it’s exactly what pulled me in. It’s an inside look at some of the negative things food bloggers deal with and the downsides of blogging. On the flip side of that, she takes each of those difficult things and puts a very positive spin on them. This is an outline of exactly why I blog and why if you love food and want to share it with the world, a food blog is one of the most rewarding ways to do that. This post is inspiring!

Raw Kale Salad with Pomegranate & Toasted Walnuts from La Phemme Phoodie: Sometimes eating healthy is hard and despite the fact that we all know kale is one of the healthiest foods on the planet, I don’t usually do cartwheels at the thought of eating it. In fact, I usually have to hide it in things to get it into my diet. Wendy has officially made me want to eat kale, raw and in its natural form. Dressed simply and scattered with tart pomegranate and meaty toasted walnuts. This salad truly makes me want to dive right in. 

Salted Blood Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies with Almonds & Tips for Food Swapping from Kelly Bakes: I’ve never been to a food swap before but after reading this post, I really need to find one! I want to participate, share my goodies and go home with arms full of other people’s creations as well. Especially if that food swap has these cookies. The name really tells it all. They sound amazing! Also, Kelly took home a SCOBY from her food swap. I had no idea what that was and googled to learn about it. See? This post is educational as well as delectable!
