Happy Saturday! Hope everyone had a great week. Can you believe we’re nearly halfway through August already? Yes, before you know it summer will have come to an end. It feels like this summer is just zipping by all too quickly. This week zipped right on by too. I don’t know where it went nor do I know what I actually accomplished with this week. I can tell you that I made two scrumptious things that I cannot wait to share with you! But that will have to wait a few more days.

Also this week, we took some time out to have our neighbors over for dinner. We had a nice spread of appetizers and a big sourdough panzanella with grilled chicken. We are so addicted to that salad this summer! It makes an appearance at our dinner table often these days. It has become our favorite summer meal. In addition to a wonderful meal filled with great conversation we had a movie night. Not just your average movie night though. We had outdoor movie night!

After the success of the first outdoor movie night, I have a feeling this is going to be come summer tradition along with sourdough panzanella. I think this needs to become a monthly thing, at the very least if not more often. It was so much fun! A mild summer night, good food, good friends and a family movie were the perfect recipe for fond memories made. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Here’s what was going on at Food Babbles this week…

And the most popular post this week on Food Babbles was…

Chocolate Cake with Strawberry Balsamic Whipped Cream Filling

Here are some things that I found this week. Perhaps you’ll like them too!

Babbles Bookmarks:

Blueberry Rhubarb Sour Cream Pie from Eat the Love: Loving this interesting pie! Blueberry and rhubarb together but then Irvin added a touch of honey, cream cheese and some sour cream which sounds like it makes for a rich, fulfilling, beautiful pie.

Light and Dark Spicy Chocolate Panna Cotta from A Pug in the Kitchen: I loved this spicy panna cotta duo that Suzanne created for the Fire on Ice challenge. Chocolate and chiles are always a great combination.

Moonshine Mango Boozer from Mango Tomato: Mangoes combined with whiskey and ice equals a refreshing, boozy mango smoothie. Olga even froze some up into little popsicles. What a great summer treat!

Have a great week!!!!
