Happy Saturday! Hope you all had a fantastic week. This week, I was still up to my eyeballs in my plethora of peaches I was telling you about last week so you can bet I’ll have just a few more peach recipes for you. Between the roasted peaches I made you last week, peach cake this week and what I have in store for you this coming week I could really should have dubbed July, “Peach Month” here on Food Babbles. But each recipe makes wonderful use of the summer bounty of this juicy sweet fruit.

CandylandThis week, was filled with simple pleasures and we just enjoyed those lazy summer days. Thanks to a gigantic thunderstorm, we now are about 10 degrees cooler here in New Jersey which meant we were able to get out and about in the fresh air a bit more. So our simple pleasures were things like enjoying that our daily walks are back now that it’s no longer nearly 100 degrees. Simple things like teaching Maddy how to play Candyland. I can remember that game being a favorite of mine as a child. HB couldn’t get enough of it growing up and now Maddy can enjoy this whimsical, fun game as I walk down memory lane.

Loving the ride 1Even Murphy got in on the simple pleasures of summer time as you may have seen on Instagram. He usually hops right in the back seat between the girls for his family car rides but the other night he hopped in the front seat. It was a mild, warm evening so I rolled the window down. At first he sat, looking, taking in this new view of the world. Then he stuck his nose out a bit and discovered the merits of the front seat, ears flapping in the wind as the world whizzed by.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with simple pleasures. As always, here is what you may have missed this week on Food Babbles.

It truly was a wonderful weekend and Maddy was all about Candyland! It was a nice walk down memory lane and I’m glad to be able to share it with her now.

He’s growing in leaps and bounds! I think he’s about done though. The vet thinks he’ll be about 55-60 lbs and he was 45 at his last visit. So a little more growing to do and he’ll be a year old in about 3 months. I’m gonna have to bake him a doggy birthday cake! 😉
