The Weekend Whisk ~ 6/30/12

by Kate on June 30, 2012

This week I really don’t have a lot to report. Mostly because my week mainly consisted of working, a lot! Despite a busy workload there, I did manage to find some time to get into the kitchen. It’s getting harder to accomplish projects these days cause Molly is officially crawling! And she’s fast! It practically happened overnight cause just a week ago I was writing about her army crawl. Now she’s certainly picked up the pace and gets that belly off the floor too. Thankfully Maddy was there to help, as always.

I made it through my first week with the new website and there weren’t too many problems. Still working out some kinks but everything is finally falling into place! Although, I will say if you are an email subscriber (and if you aren’t… you really should be! This way you can know about all things Babbles immediately!) you should have received an email asking you to confirm your subscription. So check your in-boxes and spam folders for that so that you don’t miss a beat. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! What are you up to??

So here’s what was going on around these parts this week:

Maple Bacon Caramel Corn with Pecans

4 Cheese Spinach & Artichoke Dip

Battenberg Cake

And the most popular post this week was… (drumroll please!)

Chocolate Macarons with Balsamic Ganache

(although that popcorn up there only had 5 less hits so it was pretty darn close)

Here are some things I bookmarked recently that perhaps you’ll like also.

Babbles Bookmarks

Garlic Rosemary Cheese Crisps from Bluebonnets & Brownies: These cheese crisps sound like the perfect nosh with wine, just like Amber describes them. Garlic, rosemary and cheese sound like a big win in my book!

Funfetti Cupcakes with Triple Swirl Frosting from Sugarcrafter: These cupcakes look awesome! I love the triple swirl on top especially and I want to give this frosting method a try. These will be perfect for a 4th of July BBQ.

Coconut Crusted Chicken with Mango Salsa from La Phemme Phoodie: This dish sounds intriguing. I love the use of coconut in the breading as well as the use of spices like chili powder and paprika. It’s all finished off with a mango salsa that just says “hello summer!”

Brownie Batter Cupcakes from Confessions of a Cookbook Queen: Ok, so here we have cupcakes stuffed with brownie batter!! Oh yes! Need I say more? This has “insanely good” written all over it.
