The Weekend Whisk – 1/25/14

Snow Day

Brr!! Happy Saturday! Is it freezing where you are? It’s insanely cold here on the East Coast. I’m talking negative degrees cold. Mother Nature dumped over a foot of snow on us this week and word on the street is that there’s more coming today. Whoopie. Can you feel my excitement? I really don’t love winter and I’m looking forward to spring. I keep trying to tell myself that it’s right around the corner. It is, right?

get-attachment.aspxThe girls have loved this snow and the subzero temperatures though because those temps have meant that this snow is sticking around for more than a day or two. There have been snow hills, sledding and more than their fair share of hot chocolate afterward. Funny though, both girls were rockin’ summer accessories this week. Maybe they have warm weather on the brain despite enjoying the snow?

get-attachment-3.aspxMolly’s sunglasses seemed to be a permanent fixture even when not outside. On a totally different note, my favorite picture this week was of Molly taking her own pictures. At first she was snapping pictures of the walls, the floors, Murphy. Next thing I knew, she was at the table taking pictures of cookies. Clearly, I have a budding photographer on my hands.

get-attachment-1.aspxI hope you all have had a fabulous last two weeks and have some warm weekend plans. I will be hunkering down and most likely baking just to keep warm. As always, you’ll find a recap of what’s been going on around here lately.

Yikes! Clearly, I should stop complaining. I cannot even imagine 108. Try to stay cool!

just wanted to say hope it starts warming up soon for you there, we are in colorado & we should be knee deep in snow but we are so dry this year again & it’s 60+ degrees that our farmers are getting pretty worried. i know you are tired of snow but we sure would take some if we could. stay warm

Ugh – I’m with you. I’m a summer girl through and through so this weather is beyond depressing me. But that photo of Molly being a food photographer?? Priceless!
