The Polar Express

Happy Saturday! For those who celebrate, did everyone have a merry Christmas? I certainly hope so. We shared a low-key family day of slowly opening our presents followed by a lovely breakfast. Our morning was spent playing with our new toys, watching movies and playing some new board games the girls received. The highlight of the day was definitely the bikes that Santa brought! Both girls were thrilled.

The Polar ExpressThis past week we really got into the Christmas spirit by taking a ride on the Polar Express! We all loved this experience. The old engine was decorated with lights inside and out as the girls boarded in their cozy winter pajamas, just like in the story. We listened to the story read over the loud-speaker and sang songs from the movie as we sipped hot chocolate and snacked on chocolate chip cookies. We were led in rounds of Christmas carols by the attentive and entertaining train staff then Santa arrived and gave all the children jingle bells.

The Polar ExpressThe authenticity continued when each child’s ticket was punched with the word “BELIEVE.” It was a night of magical family memories and just like that a new yearly family tradition was created. I know each of us will be looking forward to our ride on The Polar Express next year. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and I wish you all a very happy new year! As always, you’ll find a recap of what you may have missed around here this week.

That Polar Express ride looks like so much fun! We have a town nearby that does Christmas train rides, but nothing like that! So lovely that you had the time to spend with your family just enjoying each others’ company. Happy Holidays!
