The Weekend Whisk – 11/23/13

by Kate on November 23, 2013

Happy Saturday! Sorry if I’ve been a little quite around here this week. My red shoes and I packed up for an exciting week of travel. I left on Wednesday and made the trek to North Carolina to meet my niece, Mackenzie for the very first time! Talk about excited. I’ve made the drive many times over the years but no drive has felt longer than this one filled with the anticipation of meeting that sweet little girl. Sadly, our time together was much too brief because I could only stay for just a day and a half. But I couldn’t be so close to my mother and sister and not stop in to meet our new family member.

I’m actually in Virginia now attending Mixed, which almost guarantees I’ll be bombarding your streams with pictures on Instagram, although cell service seems to be spotty at best. So if I’m silent until next week, you’ll know why. I’m so excited to be attending Mixed. I know I’m going to learn so much and I cannot wait to meet a few fellow foodies who I’ve connected with online but never met in real life.

Silly Girls

Although 3 of my 5 days away from home has already been really tough. The longest I’ve been away before this was 3 days when I attended King Arthur’s Flour Blog & Bake. I’m hoping Mike survives and that I survive missing him for all this time. And man oh man, I miss these silly little ladies, HB and puppy snuggles!!

Puppy Eyes

Hope you all had a fabulous week! I’m off to learn and network but as always, here’s a recap of what was going on here on Food Babbles this week.

Murphy was trying to weasel his way onto the couch at that moment 🙂 I had a wonderful time away but I’m happy to be back home with my family. Thanks!

Sounds like you had a packed weekend! Love that the red shoes made an appearance 🙂

HA! Those red shoes have quickly become my very favorite 🙂 I was trying to be a savvy packer and they were the only shoes I packed. All 3 of my outfits went with them 🙂 It was a wonderful trip!
