Sourdough Bread, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

But seriously… Best. Bread. Ever!

It’s my ultimate favorite. No matter how many loaves of bread I bake these days, it all comes back to sourdough bread. It used to be I had to search high and low for the perfect bakery loaf of sourdough. Do you remember my first attempt at a homemade loaf of sourdough bread? It was quite the tale of misadventures, sluggish cultures, going into labor and other medical emergencies. Oh and there’s a pretty cute picture of Maddy as a pip-squeak, a very pregnant me (truth be told I was already in labor when that picture was snapped but I didn’t want to miss Maddy trick-or-treating!) and Molly when she was only a few weeks old.

But I digress. What were we talking out? Oh! Right… Sourdough bread. Sooo… despite mishaps I continued to hone my bread baking skills. Flash forward a few years later and I’ve since become quite enamored with all things yeasty. But I was still determined to master making a sourdough culture from scratch (check!) and subsequently creating the perfect loaf of crusty, chewy sourdough bread.
