Pepperoni Provolone Pizza Cones

Pepperoni Provolone Pizza Cones - FoodBabbles.com

Pizza is pretty much one of the world’s perfect food, in my humble opinion. What’s not to love about a crisp, golden, chewy crust smothered in flavorful tomato sauce and stringy, melted cheese? Then you get to top it with whatever your heart desires. Yep, perfection. It’s pretty easy to eat on the go too. Just fold it in half and one hand is all you need to be pizza mobile.

So how about baking that pizza in the shape of a cone and filling it with all the goodies? I say, “yes!” It’s just kind of fun, like a savory ice cream cone. Okay, maybe not so much but still fun!  Recently I had the opportunity to check out the new Applegate Naturals Mini Pork and Turkey Pepperoni. Have you tried them yet? They’re so good! Applegate Naturals maximizes taste, minimizes fat and sodium. Made from homely raised, vegetarian-fed pork and turkey, Applegate Naturals Mini Pork pepperoni has 30% less sodium and 70% less fat than the leading conventional brand while the Mini Turkey Pepperoni have half the fat and more than 40% less sodium! Plus Applegate Naturals use no fillers, no antibiotics and no hormones. These are all HUGE pluses in my book!

Pork and Turkey Packages

Applegate Naturals teamed up with King Arthur Flour to create this amazing pizza kit. Inside I found two varieties of Applegate Naturals Mini Pepperoni, Applegate Naturals Provolone Cheese, King Arthur Flour Pizza Crust Mix, small batch tomato sauce, a pizza cutter, kitchen towel, an apron to keep us neat and recipes for mini pizzas to get those creative juices flowing!

Armed with tasty, all-natural pepperoni I headed to the kitchen to create an amazing lunch. I used the quick, easy to make King Arthur Flour Pizza Crust Mix and quickly kneaded together the dough. Next, I shaped the dough into cones and popped them in the oven. Once golden, I filled ’em up with tomato sauce, Applegate Naturals Provolone Cheese and those tasty Applegate Naturals pepperoni. A quick turn back in the oven made everything bubbly and the cheese beautifully melted. I’m pretty sure it goes without saying, lunch was a huge hit with the whole family.
