I am a lover of all foods. I’m tellin’ ya, I’m the least picky eater. I think the only thing on Earth that I won’t let pass my lips are lima beans. Those I have a strong loathing for. Blegh! But of all the foods on Earth, there may be no more perfect food than pizza. Pizza dough is a blank canvas of endless topping possibilities. In my house, plain ol’ pizza reigns supreme due to the picky eaters that reside here. In other words, every one in this house but me! Mike is the pickiest eater I’ve ever known and by nature, most toddlers are pretty darn picky themselves. So they’re all about the perfect pizza dough topped with a good red sauce, a hefty sprinkle of mozzarella cheese and maybe, if I’m lucky I can get some fresh basil on there.

However, both Maddy and Molly love goat cheese!! See? My foodie genes are in there somewhere. I decided to make a “fancy” pizza to test the theory if there were goat cheese involved would they eat it? The answer is a resounding yes! I also remembered that Maddy loves balsamic vinegar. (More of my genes shining through!) This chewy inside, crusty outside pizza dough is topped with balsamic caramelized onions, red Anjou pears and a sprinkling of goat cheese for a grown up pizza that even kids will love.

Ohh does this look heavenly!! I’m a fellow pizza lover and my husband is also a picky eater (anything that seems remotely different, he calls “tricky food” – sigh.) My 5 year old use to eat everything until a few years ago she got pickier – hoping she’ll come back around one of these days.

Hopefully she comes back around! My 3 year old has good days and bad days and her tastes change from moment to moment so you just never know.

Now that is what I call a tasty pizza full of matching and inspired ingredients. I really like how you have nice colour on the dough too. Delicious!
