Nutella Mousse Pie

Nutella Mousse Pie

Sometimes I make something and as I take that first bite there’s a taste explosion!! In the next moment I’m hit with the thought, “Oh yeah! This stuff is RIDICULOUSLY good!” This is one of those times. Seriously folks. I’m not kidding, you need this Nutella mousse pie in your life pronto! As if Nutella wasn’t enticing enough, and who are we kidding, anything Nutella is pretty much a home run but the thing that really brings this pie to a whole new level is definitely the crust.

I wish I could take full credit for this genius idea but alas, I cannot. The crust for this pie is the brain child of my friend Stephanie. While working together one day, we stopped into a convenience store to grab some water. Lo and behold, I came across a bag of Caramel Bugles. Have you had them? I have the hardest time finding them which is probably a very good thing because they are mildly addictive.

When paired as the crisp, sweet and a little salty crust of a Nutella mousse pie? Consider yourself warned. This pie is seriously addictive. It’s rich so you won’t want a huge slice but you will find yourself going back for more. The whipped filling is light but packed with all that chocolatey goodness Nutella is known for while the crust is the perfect sweet and salty texture to go along with it. Oh! And did I mention it’s practically no-bake? All you’ll need it to set the crust in the oven for a whopping 12 minutes. That’s it. This pie is something I know I’ll be making over and over. The people at work? They devoured it!

Enjoy!

Ha! Oh… then, um… what typo? I was TOTALLY kidding 😉 But I’m so glad you wrote that comment because I had written “Bugels” in the title instead of “Bugles.”

I have to admit I’m not one of those Nutella-aholoics. Straight out of the jar? No thanks. BUT I do like it mixed with other ingredients and this pie qualifies; I’m imagining the choclatey/hazelnut goodness now! The bugles…never seen or heard of them. Maybe you guys in Jersey scarfed them all for yourself? 🙂

No Bugles in Denver?!? Gasp! Oh you’re certainly missing out. 😉 If you ever come across them, they’re quite tasty but to date using them in as pie crust is definitely the best use for them. Oh and I totally eat Nutella straight out of the jar with a spoon 😉
