Munch Madness 2015!

I grew up in North Carolina where March Madness is all the rage. College basketball is THE sport down South. I can vividly remember though middle school and high school that during The Final Four, when the games started school actually stopped. We would all sit in our classrooms at our desks watching the games on the edge of our seats. But as much as I love March Madness, to day it’s about another madness. Munch Madness 2015!

No that’s not a typo. If you’ve been around here for a while then you know exactly what I’m talking about. If not, let me introduce you. Munch Madness is a quirky competition hosted by the wildly cool Kristina of Knuckle Salad. I first connected with Kristina during Munch Madness 2013 where we bonded over potatoes and I would battle the brackets to eventually be crowned the top tater with my Rainbow Roasted Potato Salad. Talk about a good time! That competition was fierce and I loved being matched up head-to-head with some amazing bloggers.

No longer a competitor, I was given the distinct honor of being a judge during last year’s competition. It was a hard job but someone had to do it and I was up to the challenge. The theme was strange food combinations that readers swore were amazing. I loved giving new things a try and sampling new flavors I never would have put together on my own.

Munch Madness: Bagel with Cilantro Grape Puree - FoodBabbles.comIn its fourth year, I’ve been asked to judge Munch Madness 2015 and of course, I was totally on board! This has quickly become one of my favorite things to participate in during the year. I love the ideas Kristina comes up each year and look forward to seeing how it all plays out. I know you will too! Munch Madness 2015 is all about copycat recipes. Kristina scoured the inter webs for the most well-known big chain dishes and their most popular copycat counterparts. Then she rallied her judges to set to the task of seeing how those copycat recipes really stack up.

Talk about fun! I was given a copycat of Starbucks Iced Lemon Pound Cake. Have you had it? It’s so good so I was chomping at the bit to see how the copycat would compare. Having the ability to make that deliciousness at home any time I wanted? Dangerous. Curious to see the outcome? Then head on over to read more about the Munch Madness 2015 competitors and what all the judges had to say. Check it all out HERE!
