With the holidays and the departure of the old year comes indulgence, decadence and sinfully delicious desserts. As you can imagine, with my sweet tooth this is one of my favorite times of year! I love the warmth of spending time with family and friends. I love gathering together to share a meal, a cocktail and ring in the new year. I promise, this mocha toffee crunch cake is the treat you want to grace your table as you entertain friends and family.

This cake looks absolutely great and delicious. I would love to have a piece of that, but … let’s see what kind of cake I will get later. So, maybe I have to try this one myself.

What a perfect cake!!! I so want to make this. Beautiful! Hmmmm maybe for my birthday? Mocha is the best! I usually bake a mocha cake of some sort for my birthday every year so thanks for this!

I made this cake today for the first time for my husband’s birthday. It looks amazing and it was declared as looking and tasting professional. One small note i ended up with a lot of extra frosting. Is it supposed to be this much extra besides the 2 cups that are required ?

I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed this cake! As for extra frosting, it will depend on what kind of decorating you do on top. I do tend to have some leftover even after the swirls I do on top. No sure if you simply frosted the cake or frosted and did some decor. Either way, you could definitely save the frosting for another purpose. It should freeze well!

I actually made one sheet cake by halving the cake recipe and put the frosting on top. It was a huge success!
