Review: Fresh n' Lean Meal Delivery -

**Disclosure: I was provided with 1 week’s worth of meals from Fresh n’ Lean at no charge. I have not received any further compensation for this review and all opinions expressed here are my own.**

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review Fresh n’ Lean. Fresh n’ Lean is an organic, fresh (never frozen), ready-to-eat meal delivery service. My first impression right off the bat from their website was, “Oh my goodness, this sounds amazing!” A healthy meal delivery option AND I don’t have to cook it myself? Count me in!

I began perusing their options and was pleasantly surprised that they cater to many different diets such as paleo, high protein, vegan, low-carb, low calorie, gluten free, low fat and dairy free. Really, you name your healthy eating goals and they’ve got a meal to help you meet those goals.  You can even order a la carte. I also like that Fresh n’ Lean delivers nationwide, including Hawaii and Alaska

I generally eat a very low-carb diet unless I’m in the middle of doing an intense strength or muscle building regimen so for my sample meals I the Fresh n’ Lean ION Performance Paleo Low-Carb meals. I love that these meals arrive vacuum sealed and take only 3 minutes to cook.

This makes them a very convenient healthy option for people who don’t always have time to prepare themselves healthy meals. However, I feared that once microwaved, the proteins would be overcooked but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The food came out perfectly cooked each and every time.

And the taste? The flavor of each meal was amazing! I didn’t have a single meal that I didn’t enjoy. I received combinations like Spiced Cranberry Sauce Veggies with Steak Kebobs, Balsamic Walnut Yams with Salmon, Maple Rosemary Brussels Sprouts with Tuna Steak and more! I was pretty impressed with the creative meal selections.

I liked that each meal was high in protein but truthfully, was disappointed that many of my meals contained starchy veggies like sweet potatoes, kabocha squash, carrots or and even fruit that’s high in sugar like cranberries. All of these things are pretty high in carbohydrates. I was even more disappointed to see added sugars but thankful they were from sources like coconut sugar and pure maple syrup.

Their low carb meal plan on average per day has about 60 carbs which is higher than I personally choose to consume daily but is significantly lower than the average diet. It’s also much lower than other meal options which have as many as 150 or more carbohydrates per meal. These meals definitely give you the ability to very specifically tailor your meal choice to meet your nutritional goals, whatever they may be.

For those of you who track your food for performance or weight loss purposes, I love that Fresh n’ Lean readily gives you the specific macros for each meal, a daily average and even your weekly total right on their website. All the nutritional information is right at your fingertips.

Last, let’s talk cost. Depending on which meal plan you choose, each meal costs between $9-12 per meal which isn’t too shabby at all! This is no more expensive that what I would pay to order lunch out and I have the advantage of being able to have a healthy option that’s tasty, satisfying and ready in 3 minutes. Anything that gives me the option to stay healthy and on track with my nutrition goals is a big win in my book.
