With the warm, sunny days of summer in full swing you need no other reason to call a few friends over to hang out. Summer is prime time party time. If you like to entertain as much as I do, then this time of year is probably one of your favorites. My ideal summer party is all about the great outdoors. Our deck becomes a gathering point for family and friends. Throw on some good tunes and start with great appetizers like these Cherry Thyme Crostini, to get the party going.

I like to string some delicate white lights over the deck. It’s look beautiful and as dusk arrives, it looks magical allowing the party to continue into the evening. I love to serve a signature cocktail at my parties. A Hibiscus Rose Margarita is perfect for summer entertaining! Then it’s all about the appetizers. Cherry Thyme Crostini

These crostini are topped with smooth, creamy goat cheese and a pomegranate cherry compote. A sprinkle of thyme is the perfect finishing touch on this easy summer appetizer recipe.


  • 1/2 cup PAMA Liqueur
  • 2 cups pitted and halved cherries
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/4-inch sliced and toasted
  • 1 log goat cheese, softened
  • fresh thyme leaves


  1. In a medium saucepan, combine PAMA Liqueur, cherries, lemon juice honey, almond extract and cinnamon. Place over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer mixture until liquid becomes thick and syrupy, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  2. Spread softened goat cheese on toasted baguette slices. Top with some of the cherry mixture and a sprinkle of thyme.

Pretty much the perfect appetizer in my book. I love ALL of the components and imagining them together is making my mouth water! So pretty too.
