What’s beautiful? That’s a great question, isn’t it? Beauty has such diverse definition. When do you feel most beautiful? When I thought about this question I really dug deep. I came to realize that I honestly feel most beautiful after hard work. That’s the truth. I think it’s because I feel a sense of accomplishment, of having gone beyond the limits of what I thought I could do.

At work, if I’ve had a particularly hard job… a long bout of CPR, multiple patients from a car accident or some sort of trauma, something out of the ordinary, afterward I feel proud of the hard work I’ve done and that makes me feels so good. After my girls were born having labored for long hours with no medications, after sweating and pushing, I felt overjoyed, tired, accomplished and most definitely beautiful. My body had accomplished the ultimate workout. Each time I go for a run or I workout at the gym, when I’m sweaty and my muscles are spent I feel empowered and beautiful. With each workout, it makes me want to push myself further. I want to see what I can challenge my body to do. How much harder can I push myself?

What’s Beautiful is to Sweat Every Day. No matter what. Under Armour Women set out to redefine the female athlete by creating What’s Beautiful, a program that encourages women to share their fitness journeys and receive motivation, free gear, and support from Under Armour along the way. The Under Armour What’s Beautiful community is growing by the minute and the women in the challenge are seriously bringing it. Check them out! Set your own goal. Crush it. And the 10 women with the most epic journeys will win a trip to Florida to the Under Armour Women’s Camp Sweat where you will train with the best.

What’s Beautiful is not only a competition but it’s a support system where you connect with other people who are making their fitness journey as well. I have joined this support system and on the heels of running my first 5K, I’ve set my new goal. I want to double my distance and to compete in a 10K in 9 weeks. It’s going to be insanely hard, especially with cold weather coming. I know it’s going to be the most difficult challenge I’ve ever set out to do. I’m nervous and at the same time, I’m very excited! I can’t imagine being able to run that far but then again 2 months ago I couldn’t even imagine running 3 miles. Your goal can be anything you want it to be. Think about what you want to accomplish, think big and join us!

In celebration of this competition, I joined fellow bloggers for an intense workout at Exhale Spa where we worked up a sweat doing a boot camp workout with weights and resistance bands. We squatted, we lunged, we did burpees and push-ups, all while wearing some amazing Under Armour gear. I loved my new Sonic Capris! Their Signature Moisture Transport System wicks sweat which kept me dry and the lightweight, 4-Way Stretch fabrication improves range of motion and dries faster. I also love the anti-microbial technology which will keep my gear smelling fresher, longer.  The Under Armour Victory Tank is so soft and lightweight making it very comfortable on my skin. I really like how the the scoop neck and racerback design support unrestricted movement.

Being a runner, I loved the Women’s Under Armour Spine running shoe! They’re built to support every move you make. They deliver the sturdiness of a stability shoe with the weightlessness of a distance shoe. Not to mention, they’re so cute!

But my very favorite thing? The Armour Bra. I actually already owned this bra and it is the only bra I wear to run or work out. This bra is amazing! Trust me, I’ve owned a lot of sports bras in my day and I’ve never found one that I felt truly comfortable in. Let’s get real for a minute, shall we? I honestly despise sports bras. Nothing like having your boobs stuffed into a ill-fitting bra and becoming one big mass, otherwise known as “uni-boob.” Now, instead of squeezing into a small or falling out of a large, you can choose your exact size for the perfect performance fit! The Armour Bra is sized so both the band and cup fit your exact body type. Anyone who does any type of exercise needs to own this bra! It’s truly comfortable, not chaffing and most importantly it’s supportive.

At the end of our workout we were treated to massages, a fantastic luncheon and were sent home with a fabulous swag bag courtesy of Glam!

I couldn’t be more pleased to be a part of the Under Armour What’s Beautiful community and can’t wait to see what level I can push my body to. I will meet this goal, exceed what I think I’m able to do and surprise myself every step of the way. I’m feeling so inspired, empowered and hope to see you there with me! Who knows? Maybe we’ll be working out together at Under Armour Women’s Camp Sweat as part of the final 10 in Florida!

You are beautiful…and AMAZING! 🙂 What a cool program to be a part of! I know what you’re saying–there’s just nothing like the feeling you have after a really satisfying workout. It seems to cure all.

I’m all for moving more and eating less! Making it a part of my life has been tough, but I’m more serious than ever about it!

It so difficult for me to find the time to keep up with it all and fit exercise in too. But I’m really trying to make it a priority these days. Keep up your endeavors! It sounds like you’re on the right track and committed.

I totally agree with you Kate . . . accomplishing a task and/or inching towards a goal IS beautiful and regardless of the sweat incurred does make one feel happy, terrific . . . and beautiful. Nothing feels better than accomplishment and you are accomplishing a whole lot, little mama!! I’m so very proud of you!

Ha! As they were snapping pictures of us working out, I was thinking to myself… These are going to be awful pictures! The last thing you want is your picture taken when you’re sweating but fortunately they turned out pretty good 😉 I’m glad you liked the post! It was a great experience and the program is very inspiring.

This sounds so cool, I’m definitely checking it out! The workout pics turned out great, you’re so cute! I definitely feel beautiful after a workout, until I walk in the door and catch a glimpse in the mirror, LOL! Just kidding, I still feel beautiful but recognize the need for a shower 😀 I need a new sports bra too so I’ll have to check these out, we have an outlet close by so I know what I’m doing this weekend!
