This month for Foodie Penpals I was the lucky recipient of a box from Willow, author of My Own Trail. Since I embarked on my challenge to transform myself into a runner I find myself encountering more and more like-minded people purely by coincidence. Willow is one of those people. Her blog is all about her fitness endeavors and I loved reading all about the challenges she’s been taking on and what she’s adding to her weekly workouts. She’s also a foodie like me which is always a plus!

When my box arrived I couldn’t wait to dive into this sparkly, bright green paper! I was thrilled by what I found inside.

I loved that Willow picked so many healthy, flavorful options for me. I loved all these bars but the Cherry Chocolate Chip Torte Larabar was definitely my favorite. Who knew something so tasty could be so good for you?

I barely even got to touch the Archers Farms Simply Balanced Tropical Freeze Dried Fruit. Maddy staked her claim to those seconds after the picture was taken. She shared a handful but she loved each bite of that bag. I loved the handful I got too!

PopChips are not something new to me which made me even happier at their arrival. These are SO good! Not to mention salt and vinegar is my favorite variety.

There were also some Archer Farms Roasted Almonds which are always a crowd pleaser. They are one of my favorite grab and go snacks and keep me satisfied in between meals.

Last, but definitely not least was my favorite part, dessert! A deep dark, velvety Ghirardelli chocolate bar with almonds and bursts of sea salt. You all know how I adore salty sweet snacks so this was clearly the best part of the box for me.

Willow thoughtfully picked out each item and I couldn’t have been more pleased. She did a wonderful job! Thank you so much, Willow! Would you like to be a part of Foodie Penpals? You don’t need to be a blogger, you just have to love food. Head on over to Lindsay’s site and tell her you want in! Click HERE.

Enjoy!

Girl, you made out like a bandit. Everything looks mighty tasty, especially those chocolate bars.

Yes!! Willow did SO good! I loved that it was mostly healthy stuff since I’m trying to stay on track with my eating and running. 😉 But that chocolate bar was the best. I’ve been savoring it once square at a time.

The Tropical Freeze Dried Fruit looks very interesting. And I just finished my Ghirardelli Sea Salt Soiree from my July 2012 Foodie Penpal! ^_^

What a fun idea Kate..I would love to join but am realistic about adding another obligation so I’ll just watch you from afar. Curious about what you sent someone too!

Well it isn’t my idea… that is all Lindsay of The Lean Green Bean but what a cool idea right?? I’ve done it the last two months and like it.

I love this idea…..I’d like to be a foodie penpal, but have a lot on my plate right now, parent-wise. maybe I can join in in a couple of months.

Thanks Kathy! I can’t take credit though. It’s the brainchild of The Lean Green Bean but it’s such a neat thing!
